Watkins Glen Triumph

PAGID
distributor and Daytona Prototype race team, The Racers
Group, raced to a one – two finish in the Grand American
Rolex Series Six Hours of Watkins Glen
Christian Fittipaldi and Jörg Bergmeister ran toward
the front of the field all race. Four hours into the race,
Bergmeister put the # 66 Pontiac Riley Daytona Prototype
into the lead just prior to the rain. Fittipaldi was in
the car during the last stint as the rain really began
to fall. On the fourth to last lap, he was passed by teammate
Nic Jönsson in the # 67 Pontiac Riley for the lead
and victory.
Position 1, 2 for PAGID in the GT class as well with the
#14 Autometrics Porsche GT3 Cup in 1st and the #65 The
Racers Group Porsche GT3 Cup in 2nd position.
Also all Grand Am Cup classes victories went to cars equipped
with PAGID pads. Bill Auberlin and Justin Marks won the
GS class in their Turner BMW M3. The ST class was won
for the first time by the new Chevy Cobalts – an
impressive 1 - 2 podium finish.
